Step into the riveting realm of the Scythe board game, where strategy meets steampunk in a showdown of epic proportions! Picture a world where mechanized mechs roam the countryside, vying for control over the land's resources. You're not just playing a game; you're orchestrating an alternate history masterpiece!

Assemble your faction and forge a path to supremacy. It's a bit like building your own alternate history adventure, but with a dash of fierce competition thrown in. Imagine yourself as a brilliant leader, plotting your way to victory using a combination of resource management, cunning diplomacy, and tactical prowess.

But wait, there's more! Unleash those massive, beautifully detailed mechs onto the board. These aren't just any mechs; they're a symbol of your power and ingenuity, ready to stomp, slice, or shoot their way to dominance. It's like your own mini-mech movie, and you're the director.

And don't forget the encounters! Engage in mysterious encounters that can lead to riches, alliances, or even unexpected twists. It's like stumbling upon a secret side quest in a video game, but in tabletop form.

In Scythe, you're not just playing a game; you're crafting a narrative of conquest and intrigue. Will you be a master diplomat, a cunning strategist, or a ruthless warlord? The choice is yours, and the tabletop world of Scythe is your canvas. So gather your friends, don your top hats, stoke those steam engines, and prepare for a board game experience that'll leave you craving more mechs, more mayhem, and more moments of tabletop triumph!

Scythe is an engine-building, asymmetric, competitive board game set in an alternate-history 1920s period. It is a time of farming and war, broken hearts and rusted gears, innovation and valor.

In Scythe, each player represents a fallen leader attempting to restore their honor and lead their faction to power in Eastern Europa. Players conquer territory, enlist new recruits, reap resources, gain villagers, build structures, and activate powerful mechs.

Scythe uses a streamlined action-selection mechanism (no rounds or phases) to keep gameplay moving at a brisk pace and reduce downtime between turns. While there is plenty of direct conflict, there is no player elimination, nor can units be killed or destroyed.

Every part of Scythe has an aspect of engine-building to it. Players can upgrade actions to become more efficient, build structures that improve their position on the map, enlist new recruits to enhance character abilities, deploy mechs to deter opponents from invading, and expand their borders to reap greater types and quantities of resources. These engine-building aspects create a sense of momentum and progress throughout the game. The order in which players improve their engine adds to the unique feel of each game, even when playing one faction multiple times.

Scythe is complete. After completing the 3-expansion story arc and wrapping up with accessories like the Legendary Box, the modular board, and the complete rulebook, Scythe is complete. While we will continue to reprint and support old and new Scythians alike, the Scythe game is complete and will not be further extended. The sequel to Scythe is Expeditions, which is also set in Jakub Rozalski's 1920+ world.

Tldr: Fantastic game, highly recommend if you like Great War-ish dieselpunk stuff and have friends interested in learning to play cool stuff.

Finally go the chance to play this robust game. By its looks it can be overwhelming to play, especially taking into account the many components it brings to the table: money, resources, workers, mechs and plenty of stuff going on in a player’s mat. Despite that every turn you’re taking “simple” actions, like moving units, getting resources, building stuff and whatnot. I’m still new to the game but 2-3 play throughs got me thinking why we didn’t played this before!
